Etteplan MORE to implement digitalization of Posti’s parcel services
The introduction of the OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminals supplied by Etteplan MORE marks a natural extension to the cooperation between Posti, Finland’s leading postal and logistics service, and Etteplan MORE concerning parcel lockers. For some time now, Etteplan MORE has been responsible for maintaining the software for Posti’s parcel lockers and SmartPost, and now this collaboration is expanding to self-service terminals.
The OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminal is a new addition to Posti’s digital services. It is a device that allows customers to handle their own postal matters, such as paying for and sending parcels. If they wish, customers can contact Posti’s customer service via a video call. Etteplan’s software development unit Etteplan MORE is responsible for implementing and delivering the OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminals.
“The OmaPosti kiosk self-service terminal is a natural continuation of our earlier collaboration with Posti. The self-service terminals complement the services offered by parcel lockers in areas frequented by consumer customers,” says Esa Mäkelä, Managing Director of Etteplan MORE, Etteplan’s software unit.
“Etteplan MORE has proven to be the right choice of partner for developing the OmaPosti kiosks,” says Lasse Huttunen, Posti’s Director, Retail Network. “The development schedule was extremely tight, but Etteplan MORE did a fantastic job. The experiences and development suggestions collected from the pilot project have been utilized in the next development versions on a short schedule, which is critical for succeeding in this type of concept development.”
Etteplan MORE maintains Posti's parcel lockers
Etteplan MORE is responsible for the maintenance of Posti's parcel lockers. In 2019, co-operation will be extended to include Smartpost lockers located in residential buildings and workplaces.
“From the Posti's point of view, it is practical that we can provide the entire system with one-stop service,” says Esa Mäkelä, CEO of Etteplan's software unit Etteplan MORE. “Posti's customer service has direct access to our maintenance department, which can provide technical remote support or coordinate maintenance services. We also take care of the necessary application updates or developments.”
